Zach Mettenberger on Titans' roster bubble

Tennessee Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger is on the roster bubble after the team signed Matt Cassel to be their No. 2 quarterback.

What It Means:

The Titans probably missed the boat to trade Mettenberger after he started six games and averaged 7.9 yards per attempt (YPA) as a 2013 rookie. Forced into duty last season, "Mett Show" averaged a measly 5.6 YPA with seven interceptions across four starts. With two years left on his rookie deal, Mettenberger is cheap and could possibly bring back a late-rounder if dealt.

Among the 46 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2015, Mettenberger's -0.24 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranked 45th. Cassel's -0.14 clip was marginally better, ranking 42nd among these players.
