Washington's Pierre Garcon expected to keep roster spot
Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon is expected to keep his roster spot in his contract-year season, according to ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim.
Garcon's status became the subject of speculation after Washington used the No. 22 overall pick on Josh Doctson, but Keim is convinced Garcon will keep his roster spot. Per Keim, Redskins officials have never once wavered on Garcon's roster spot, either publicly or privately. With the Washington's offseason spending largely finished, they don't need the $8 million in cap savings they'd get by cutting Garcon loose.
Among the 32 receivers to see at least 100 targets last season, Garcon ranked 19th in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
