Matthew Stafford signs four-year contract extension with Rams
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford signed a four-year contract extension on Saturday.
What It Means:
Fresh off a super bowl win, Stafford has committed his future to the Rams with a four-year deal worth $160 million, with $135 million in guaranteed salary. The 34-year-old will head into the 2022-23 season with Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson as his top two targets, with Robert Woods traded to the Tennessee Titans and Odell Beckham Jr. still unsigned following his ACL injury.
In 17 regular-season games last season, Stafford completed 404 of 601 pass attempts for 4,886 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. The 41 touchdowns tied a career-high for Stafford, while his 4,886 passing yards were the third-most in his career and most since the 2012 season.
