Chargers' Austin Ekeler placed on reserve/COVID list
Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler has been placed on the reserve/COVID list ahead of their Week 16 game against the Houston Texans.
Ekeler is one of three additional Chargers players who were added to the reserve/COVID list today, including star edge rusher Joey Bosa and center Corey Linsley. This news comes after a week that saw multiple pass-catchers deal with a COVID outbreak of their own. Today being Monday, it's still possible for Ekeler and the other Chargers to clear the protocols, assuming they are vaccinated, ahead of their Week 16 game, but this will be a situation to monitor.
Ekeler played through a bit of an ankle injury in Week 15, sharing an unusual amount of work with teammates Justin Jackson (who had 14 touches) and Joshua Kelley (who had 7 touches). Ekeler's questionable availability for Week 16 makes Justin Jackson a priority add on waiver wires this week.
