Jets reportedly starting Joe Flacco Week 11 over Mike White
New York Jets quarterback Joe Flacco will start Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins, reports Rich Cimini of ESPN.
Zach Wilson is still recovering from a knee injury and Cimini says Flacco's experience is "likely a big factor" in the Jets' decision to start the veteran over Mike White against an aggressive Miami front. Flacco made his season debut last week in garbage time and completed 3-of-3 passes for 47 yards. Michael Carter and Ty Johnson have been racking up check-down targets out of the backfield in recent weeks with White under center, but Flacco has been more aggressive throwing the ball in his career. That could theoretically benefit receivers like Corey Davis and Keelan Cole on Sunday.
Among Jets players with at least 20 targets this season, Cole has the highest average depth of target (14.1 yards) and Davis is second (13.6). The Dolphins are ranked 23rd against the pass in numberFire's power rankings.
