Lions' Quintez Cephus breaks collarbone in Week 5 loss
Detroit Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus broke his collarbone in the team's Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Tom Pelissero reports.
Pelissero added that "It'll be an extended absence and potentially season-ending for Cephus," meaning Detroit could be without it's top wideout for the remainder of the year. Cephus had been enjoying a nice second season and was responsible for some of the team's biggest plays this season.
Cephus' absence could open up more opportunities for rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has drawn 8 targets in each of his past 2 games and has caught 13 balls for 135 yards in the process. However, the Lions' offense is likely to rely even more heavily on the run game now, as the Lions' backfield combined for 32 touches in the loss.
