Mike Davis expected to be Falcons' feature back

Atlanta Falcons running back Mike Davis is expected to be the featured back, writes Scott Bair of the Falcons official website.

What It Means:

Bair believes Davis will be the feature back and Qadree Ollison will be the "true backup," with Cordarrelle Patterson also being used in "creative ways." Davis racked up 165 carries and 59 catches (70 targets) last season while filling in for Christian McCaffrey as the Panthers' workhorse, averaging 15.7 opportunities per contest. The Falcons have a league-high 364 carries available from last year's production, leaving an ample amount of volume available if Davis can stay healthy and handle the load. Per Fantasy Football Calculator Davis' ADP is currently 4.10 as the RB24 in standard 12-team formats.

numberFire's models project Davis for 274.1 carries, 1,164.2 rushing yards, 37.5 receptions, 49.8 targets, 237.4 receiving yards, and 10.8 touchdowns in 2021. He is currently the RB23 in our preseason fantasy rankings.
