Antonio Gibson practicing in Washington hurry-up offense
Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson played in Washington's hurry-up offense on Sunday.
JP Finlay of NBC Sports said Sunday was the first time he's seen the Football Team use Gibson in an "additional role." J.D. McKissic was used exclusively last year whenever the offense went into hurry-up mode, which resulted in him leading all running backs with 110 targets. Gibson, who averaged 3.1 targets per game as a rookie, could see a larger share this season if he performs well during two-minute drills at practice.
Gibson recorded the fifth best catch rate (81.8 percent) among running back with at least 40 targets last season. He is currently the RB12 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings for half-PPR formats, with a projection of 284.0 rushes, 1,292.0 yards, 10.84 rushing touchdowns, 46.0 receptions, 62.0 targets (3.6 per game), 364.17 receiving yards, and 2.14 receiving scores.
