Dolphins don't consider Cameron Wake a full-time player

The Miami Dolphins don't consider defensive end Cameron Wake a full-time player anymore, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

What It Means:

The Dolphins are moving forward with Andre Branch as the starter at left end, at least until Wake returns to full strength after missing most of last year with a torn Achilles. Wake usually plays between 40-50 snaps a game but Salguero sees him getting about half that next year. The Dolphins aren't thrilled to be paying Wake starter's money, but they have no plans to move him and probably wouldn't have much luck if they tried.

Miami ranked just 30th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. The Dolphins were 15th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play but a woeful 31st in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. In seven games in 2015, Wake recorded seven sacks. He had 11.5 in a full 16-game season in 2014.
