Packers' B.J. Raji retiring after seven seasons
Free agent nose tackle B.J. Raji is retiring from football, the Green-Bay Press Gazette reports.
Raji's agent said as recently as late February that his client had interest in a new deal with the Packers, but it never materialized. Raji had been linked to only one team in free agency (the Carolina Panthers) but had yet to take a visit.
Going on 30, Raji battled a nagging groin injury last season but still started 15 games. The No. 9 overall pick of the 2009 draft, Raji appeared headed for stardom early in his career, but he struggled with injuries, which is almost certainly the reason Raji is walking away after only seven years.
