Patriots' Julian Edelman (knee) still "a couple of weeks" away from a return
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (knee) is still a "couple of weeks" away from a return, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Edelman has been sidelined with a knee injury since Week 7's loss to the San Francisco 49ers but still intends to return play this season. However, that return is still, at least, a couple of weeks away. Edelman is reportedly hoping to return to help New England make a postseason push, but their playoff chances may be nearly gone by the time he can get back on the field. With Edelman sidelined, Jakobi Meyers is expected to continue to operate as Cam Newton's go-to option in the passing game.
The Patriots have a 6.1% chance of making the playoffs, according to numberFire's NFL Team Rankings. Their odds are the tenth-worst in the league.
