Deebo Samuel returns for 49ers with first 100-yard game of year

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel caught 11 passes on 13 targets for 134 yards in a 23-20, Week 12 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

What It Means:

Samuel, playing for the first time since Week 7, had more than twice as many targets and more than three times as many receptions and yards as anyone else on the 49ers. The targets and catches both set career-bests while the 2019 second-rounder fell a yard short of his high-water mark. Brandon Aiyuk (COVID-19) could cut into Samuel's workload if he's cleared for Week 13 versus the Buffalo Bills, but Samuel should still remain a featured part of the offense. The Bills allowed three players to have more than 60 receiving yards in Week 12.

Samuel scored a season-best 18.8 FanDuel points on Sunday and is averaging 10.5 FanDuel points per game overall. He and Aiyuk are both pacing the 49ers' receivers with 7.0 targets per game and they are both averaging 8.4 yards per target, but Samuel is averaging the eighth-most yards per route run among all receivers with at least 10 targets while Aiyuk is 70th.
