Christian McCaffrey (ankle) officially out for Panthers on Thursday
Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle) won't play Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night.
McCaffrey will remain on injured reserve for at least one more week, setting up Mike Davis for another workhorse role in Thursday's matchup. Davis rushed 16 times for 89 yards and caught a season-high 9 passes (10 targets) for 60 yards and a touchdown when the Panthers played the Falcons in Week 5.
Davis is averaging 16.1 FanDuel points per game as the Panthers' starting running back and he has a salary of $15,000 on FanDuel's Thursday slate. The Falcons are allowing the most receiving touchdowns (0.6) and second-most receptions per game (7.3) to opposing running backs.
