Texans 'more likely than not' to sign safety Earl Thomas
The Houston Texans are meeting with free agent safety Earl Thomas and are reportedly 'more likely than not' to sign the veteran, per Adam Schefter.
Thomas is meeting with the Texans this week (pending COVID-19 testing) and is now reportedly expected to sign with the team. It's the first strong interest we've seen reported for the veteran since his unceremonious release from the Baltimore Ravens just before the season began.
Thomas can definitely still play and receive elite coverage grades from PFF for his 2019 season with the Ravens, but his play wasn't the team's primary concern when they released him just before the season. If Thomas can show that he's in a better place, the 0-3 Texans, who have actually allowed the third-fewest passing yards this season pending Sunday Night Football, could use his help.
