Buccaneers' Chris Godwin enters concussion protocol
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is in the league's concussion protocol.
Godwin took a helmet-to-helmet hit during Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. He said after the game and again on Tuesday that he was fine, but Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said Godwin began displaying symptoms that prevented him from practicing Wednesday. Mike Evans will likely see a larger target share if Godwin is unavailable for Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers. Scotty Miller would also be in line for an expanded role in a plus matchup.
Godwin scored 10.9 FanDuel points in Week 1 with 6 catches for 79 yards on 7 targets. He added 1.07 Reception Net Expected Points per target, 12th-most among 68 wideouts to draw at least 5 targets. According to numberFire's advanced metrics, the Panthers have the 25th-ranked passing defense after one game.
