Brandin Cooks' reps 'carefully managed' at Texans camp
Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks' reps were "carefully managed" during training camp, writes Aaron Reiss of The Athletic.
Reiss questions whether the lack of on-field reps this offseason could cause Cooks to get a slow start with his new team. Cooks also has a troubling concussion history, but he recently said that there is "zero concern" heading into the season. Keke Coutee and Isaiah Coulter could benefit if Cooks does get a slow start. Once he's up to speed, Cooks and Will Fuller will likely see the bulk of targets from Deshaun Watson. There are only five teams with more vacated targets from last season than the Texans.
Cooks is the WR36 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him for 98.1 targets, 61.5 receptions, 780.0 yards, and 5.2 touchdowns.
