Pats' Sony Michel (foot) may not be cleared in time for practice
Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports that New England Patriots running back Sony Michel, who underwent foot surgery in May, may not get clearance to practice when training camp opens up.
Michel has been rehabbing at the Patriots' facility during the shutdown, but is apparently in danger of missing time in camp while he progresses through his recovery. Injuries have hampered the former first-round pick through his first two seasons, but he has been one of the worst tackle-breakers among starters at the position since entering the league. If he isn't healthy to start the season, it could lead to increased looks for 2019 third-round pick Damien Harris or fantasy-fan-favorite Rex Burkhead.
Michel has broken a tackle on just under 6% of his carries since entering the league, but has consistently received an enviable workload despite his inefficiency. If he can maintain that workload with Cam Newton under center, he could be value in fantasy drafts this year. Michel is currently RB33, and is projected to receive over 200 carries for the third consecutive year.
