Jags' Gardner Minshew 'showing initiative' with team's offense
New Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Tyler Eifert has been impressed with second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew's initiative as a leader.
With no official physical practices allowed to take place this offseason, Eifert mentioned how Minshew coordinated and scheduled additional remote meetings for the offense. Minshew was a surprise standout as a fifth-round draft pick last year, and eventually beat out Nick Foles for the Jags' starting quarterback job.
Minshew added a surprising amount of fantasy value on the ground last year, tallying 344 rushing yards on 66 attempts (almost 2.5 additional fantasy points per game) while leading all rookie passers in adjusted yards per pass attempt (7.3). numberFire currently projects Minshew for a finish as the QB24 in FanDuel scoring with 250.93 points in 2020.
