Josh Gordon expects reinstatement decision within month

Suspended free agent wide receiver Josh Gordon expects a decision on his reinstatement application within the next 30 days, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

What It Means:

Gordon will become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career if NFL commissioner Roger Goodell gives him the green light. Gordon was suspended December 16 for violating the league's PED and substance-abuse policies, his fifth such suspension since 2013. He only averaged 38.7 yards over 11 games for the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks last season, but he posted 15.8 yards per catch, 16th-most among 181 players with at least 25 receptions. Gordon turned 29 in April.

Gordon had 27 catches on 47 targets for 426 yards and 1 touchdown in 11 games last season. He averaged 5.6 FanDuel points per game and ranked 25th out of 100 receivers with at least 40 targets in numberFire's advanced per-target receiving metric.
