Hakeem Butler expected to rebound for Cardinals in Year 2

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Hakeem Butler is expected to bounce back in 2020 after missing all of his rookie season with a finger injury, per head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

What It Means:

"Tons of ability," Kingsbury said. "He’s healthy. He’s been working hard this offseason. He knows what we expect of him, and what we think he can be. I'm really excited when we can finally get him back on the field." Butler, a 2019 fourth-round pick, was placed on injured reserve last August and never made it to the field as a rookie. Despite Kingsbury's praise, Butler is unlikely to see many targets behind DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, and Christian Kirk. He'll be competing for snaps with fellow sophomores Andy Isabella and KeeSean Johnson.

Butler caught 60 passes for 1,318 yards and 9 touchdowns in his final year at Iowa State, averaging a robust 22.0 yards per reception. He also led the nation in yards gained on 20-plus-yard targets (721) that season.
