Malik Hooker

Colts' Malik Hooker reportedly available

Indianapolis Colts defensive back Malik Hooker is available for trade, reports Michael Lombardi of The Athletic.

What It Means:

Hooker is still on his rookie deal and an exceptional athlete, so he figures to garner some interest if Lombardi's report is accurate. The cause for concern is Hooker's health, as the 2017 first-round pick missed nine games his rookie season and has been absent for another five over the last two years. It's worth noting that Colts insider and Lombardi's colleague, Stephen Holder, says teams have actually been inquiring about Hooker, rather than the other way around. Oakland Raiders defensive tackle P.J. Hall, Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Rasul Douglas, and Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen are also available, per Lombardi.

Hooker recorded 2 interceptions and 3 pass deflections in 13 games last season. He ranked 31st overall and 17th against the run last season on Pro Football Focus out of 71 safeties with at least 500 defensive snaps.
