Dion Lewis reportedly signs with Giants

The New York Giants have reportedly signed Dion Lewis to a one-year deal.

What It Means:

Lewis has been quiet the past two seasons since catching fire at the end of his 2017 season with the New England Patriots. Since then, he has spent a more or less unremarkable two years with the Tennessee Titans, totaling 1,290 yards in those seasons while playing second fiddle to Derrick Henry. He's not a lock to make the final roster come September, but is currently a front-runner for the backup job to Saquon Barkley.

While Lewis mustered up unimpressive raw numbers with the Titans last season, he did average a team-high Rushing Success Rate of 44.44% on his 54 carries, just barely besting Henry's 41.91% mark. In addition, his 7.7 rushing attempts per broken tackle ranked sixth-best across the league, implying that the 29-year-old may still have some juice left in the tank.
