Melvin Gordon reportedly finalizing deal with Broncos
The Denver Broncos and free agent running back Melvin Gordon, formerly of the Los Angeles Chargers, are finalizing a contract agreement, reports Stephen Watson of WISN 12 News.
Gordon didn't generate much interest on the open market, but unless Phillip Lindsay or Royce Freeman are moved, he figures to lead a three-way committee in Denver. Gordon managed to score 9 touchdowns last year in a holdout-shortened 12-game campaign, but he only managed 4.5 yards per touch (47th among the 59 players to average 6.25 offensive touches per game). Gordon turns 27 next month.
Gordon averaged 13.3 FanDuel points and 75.7 scrimmage yards per game last season. His 43.2 rushing success rate was 10th among the 30 backs with 150-plus carries.
