Drew Lock (thumb), Brandon Allen splitting Broncos' reps this week
Denver Broncos quarterbacks Drew Lock (thumb) and Brandon Allen will split the practice reps this week, general manager John Elway announced Wednesday.
The Broncos will decide a starter by Friday for Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Lock, the 42nd overall pick, is healed despite being on injured reserve all season for a sprained thumb. It would make sense to at least transition him to clipboard duties if the Broncos don't want to put the rookie under center yet.
The Chargers are allowing 14.4 FanDuel points per game to opposing quarterbacks (7th in the NFL).
