Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes reportedly dealing with 'legit' ankle injury
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is dealing with a "legit" ankle injury, according to James Palmer of NFL Network.
Mahomes initially suffered the injury in Week 1 and aggravated it in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts. Palmer believes it is "probably worse than people think it is." The quarterback's mobility was limited last game and he had season-lows in passing yards and completion percentage, but Mahomes remains an elite fantasy option, even if he's not quite up to his typical otherworldly standards. The Chiefs play on the road Thursday night against the Denver Broncos.
Mahomes is numberFire's top overall fantasy option in Week 7. Our models project him for 21.9 FanDuel points. He costs $16,000 on the Thursday-only slate.
