Austin Ekeler matches Chargers record with 15 receptions
Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler rushed 3 times for 7 yards and caught 15 passes on 16 targets for 86 yards in a 20-13, Week 5 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Ekeler tied Keenan Allen (2015) and Kellen Winslow Sr. (1984) for most catches in franchise history. He out-touched Melvin Gordon 18-16 while finishing with more than twice as many receptions as anyone else on the team. Even if Gordon takes on more work moving forward, Ekeler should remain plenty involved in the offense. The Chargers host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night in Week 6.
Ekeler scored 14.8 FanDuel points in Week 5 and is averaging 22.0 FP per game this season. He has 227 rushing yards, 356 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns.
