Alshon Jeffery expected to be out for Eagles until at least Week 5
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf) isn't expected to return before Week 5, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Garafolo believes it would be a "really good outcome" if Jeffery or DeSean Jackson (groin) are back by Week 5. Neither receiver is expected to play this Sunday versus the Detroit Lions and it sounds like they will remain sidelined for Week 4, as the Eagles will be on a short week with a road matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Nelson Agholor will work as the number-one receiver and Zach Ertz figures to see more targets. J.J. Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins will also take on expanded roles with Jeffery and Jackson out.
The Eagles' receivers draw a plus matchup in Week 3 against a Lions defense that has given up the 9th-most passing yards so far this season.
