Daniel Jones named Giants' starting quarterback over Eli Manning
New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is replacing Eli Manning as the starter for Week 3 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The writing was on the wall after Giants head coach Pat Shurmur declined to name Manning the Week 3 starter on Monday. The sixth overall pick from this year's draft, Jones was outstanding in the preseason, going 29-of-34 (85.3 percent) for 416 yards (12.2 yards per attempt) and 2 touchdowns with 0 interceptions. The rookie may be without his top two receivers in his first career start, as Golden Tate remains suspended and Sterling Shepard is dealing with a concussion. As for Eli, Week 2 may have been the final start of his NFL career.
numberFire's models project Jones for 265.3 passing yards, 1.43 touchdowns, 1.4 interceptions, and 15.5 FanDuel points in Week 3. He's priced at $6,000 and is the QB26 in our weekly fantasy rankings.
