Falcons' Matt Ryan evens out dreadful season of 21 scores, 21 turnovers
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan completed 24-of-36 passes for 334 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Atlanta's 20-17, Week 17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Ryan finishes his dreadful eighth NFL season with as many turnovers (21) as touchdowns. In a mistake emblematic of his year, Ryan turned a potential game-winning drive into a Saints victory Sunday on an easy interception late. Ryan seemed to lack for confidence this season, and was at his worst in the red zone, where he committed back-breaking turnover after back-breaking turnover, and he spent too much of 2015 checking down to sub-par talents like tight end Jacob Tamme.
At least he had a strong Week 17 showing. Ryan posted 12.74 Total Net Expected Points per live.numberfire.com. This was the fourth-most among quarterbacks in the early slate of games.
