Saints coach Payton says Nick Toon's snaps will increase
New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton says he thinks wide receiver Nick Toon's snaps will go "way up" this season.
Toon has been buried on the Saints wide receiver depth chart the past two seasons, but Toon now has an opportunity for playing time after the departures of Jimmy Graham, Kenny Stills, and Robert Meachem. Toon is currently pegged as the number three wide receiver in the Saints offense behind Brandin Cooks and Marques Colston. We project him to finish with 37 receptions, 437 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns. However, with his big frame, he could easily be a primary red zone target.
