Giants may turn to Kyle Lauletta once eliminated
New York Giants fourth-round rookie quarterback Kyle Lauletta could see late-season playing time, head coach Pat Shurmur suggested.
Shurmur said Eli Manning will continue to start until the Giants are mathematically eliminated. After that, Lauletta could get his first opportunity. "Maybe we will (shift gears) at that time," Shurmur said. The rookie was active Week 13 for the first time in his career, while Eli completed 19-of-35 passes for 170 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in Sunday's upset win over the Chicago Bears.
Lauletta recorded a 63.5 completion percentage at 8.8 yards per attempt at Richmond, with 73 touchdowns and 35 interceptions over 40 games.
