Iowa's Peter Jok struggling with back issues
Iowa Hawkeyes senior guard Peter Jok has been dealing with back issues and could be shut down for the remainder of the season, if doctors recommend it, according to Chad Leistikow of the Des Moines Register.
Jok hasn't missed any games with the injury but reportedly has been playing through back pain in recent weeks. In his last three games, he is averaging only 9.3 points per game while shooting 30.0 percent from the field, so the issue has apparently been affecting his play as he was scoring 22.9 points per game in his first 18 contests.
At 11-10, the Hawkeyes are likely on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament this year, so shutting down Jok is a real possibility. If he sits out, their slim 2.9 percent chance of making the field of 68, according to our algorithms, would drop to near zero.
