Joe Johnson expected to receive buyout from Kings
Sacramento Kings forward Joe Johnson is expected to request and receive a buyout, reports Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports.
What It Means:
On Thursday, Johnson was traded from Utah to Sacramento in a three-team deal. At age 36, he doesn't fit what the Kings are trying to do with their youth movement. Contenders like the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are expected to lead the early favorites for Johnson's bucket-getting services.
In 32 games -- including 3 starts -- Johnson has produced 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 21.9 minutes per game this season.
