Kawhi Leonard (quad) says absence from Spurs' loss was due to rest
San Antonio Spurs guard/forward Kawhi Leonard said the reason he didn't play in Monday's 102-99 loss to the Atlanta Hawks due to the team's "return from injury management" program, and not an issue with his quad injury.
The Spurs haven't allowed Leonard to play this season unless he's had two full days of rest between games, so this should mean he's back in action for Wednesday's matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. There will likely be multiple updates between now and then but his return would send Kyle Anderson back to the bench.
Kawhi is averaging 32.5 FanDuel points in nine games this season, with 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.0 blocks, 1.2 3-pointers, and 1.8 turnovers in 23.4 minutes per contest.
