C.J. McCollum expected to start for Trail Blazers
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum has emerged as "the clear favorite" to start at shooting guard this year, according to The Oregonian's Joe Freeman.
This is because Gerald Henderson (hip) is not close to 100 percent. Most of the buzz was that McCollum was going to come off the bench to be the go-to guy in the second unit while still getting 23 minutes or so next to Damian Lillard. Whatever the case, you had better be prepared to ante up for McCollum in all leagues. He is a popular breakout candidate.
McCollum, entering his third season, played just 15.7 minutes per game last year, averaging 6.8 points and hitting 55-of-139 (39 percent) from deep.
