Cavaliers will start Isaiah Thomas (hip) moving forward
According to The Athletic's Jason Lloyd, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue said that point guard Isaiah Thomas will start after tonight's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Thomas is making his 2017-18 debut on Tuesday and will be limited to 8-to-12 minutes off the Cleveland bench. However, the expectation is that he'll start Saturday against the Orlando Magic. The Vertical's Shams Charania is also reporting that the plan is for Thomas to play on a 20-to-22 minute restriction initially, with the "flow of his comeback" dictating how that changes after his first run of play. Either way, Jose Calderon and Derrick Rose (ankle) -- when he returns -- will see minimal roles while splitting time with IT2.
Our models project Thomas for 12.7 FanDuel points over 11.9 minutes in Tuesday's game. He costs $5,500 for his home debut against the Blazers.
