Gregg Popovich: Spurs' Kawhi Leonard (quad) 'coming along more slowly'
When asked for an update on San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhil Leonard, head coach Gregg Popovich said that he is "coming along more slowly for whatever reason."
Popovich expanded on his comments saying, "It's just been more difficult for him to get through the rehab routine." The coach even went as far as to suggest that Tony Parker (quad) is ahead of Leonard in his rehab and return to the floor. It's definitely not a good sign for Leonard's availability in the short-term as he remains without a timetable. It's safe to say that it could be a while for him to work his way through the many remaining steps in the rehab process. Kyle Anderson will keep drawing starts in his stead.
Over 60 games, we project Leonard to average 24.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals in 33.6 minutes per game this season.
