Josh Smith will not be available to play on Thursday for the Pelicans
New Orleans Pelicans forward Josh Smith will not play Thursday night versus the Sacramento Kings, per Will Guillory of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Smith was just signed by the Pels on Wednesday and apparently is not ready to suit up just yet. The forward sat out all of 2016-17 with his last NBA action coming in April of 2016. Smith will need to prove his worth before he earns regular minutes in the rotation, even for the injury-riddled Pelicans.
Smith averaged 6.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 16.0 minutes per game with the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers in 2015-16.
