Kemba Walker embracing leadership role with Hornets

Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker said he worked on "being a leader" this offseason during an interview with The Wake Up Call on 730 AM The Game ESPN Charlotte.

What It Means:

When asked about what he improved on this offseason, Walker emphasized the importance of leadership. "Being a leader. That's what's really important to me," the All-Star point guard explained. "Pushing my team and being a vocal leader that I know I'm capable of being." With rookies Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon expected to contribute early on for a team filled with young talent, the Hornets will need Kemba to lead the way both on and off the court. Coming off a season where he set career-bests in field goal percentage (44.4) and 3-pointers made per game (3.0), Walker is poised for another strong fantasy season for owners.

numberFire's models project Walker to average 23.6 points on 44.6 percent shooting this season with 3.2 3-pointers (36.4 percent), 5.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game.
