Mavericks want Dennis Smith to play at fast pace
Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith is being asked to increase the pace this season.
What It Means:
Smith will open the season as the Mavericks starting point guard and has been instructed by head coach Rick Carlisle to push the pace, admitting, "In this league, I’ve got to attack first, and then make my reads from there." Dallas played at a pace of 104.01 possessions per 48 minutes with Smith on the floor during the preseason.
