Lakers' Julius Randle (intercostal strain) did not practice on Saturday
Los Angeles Lakers power forward Julius Randle did not practice on Saturday due to right intercostal strain.
According to the Orange County Register's Bill Oram, Randle will be re-evaluated on Monday, at which time we should expect more on his status for Thursday's season opener. On the plus side, the team said that he woke up without soreness and did some on-court shooting today. Coach Luke Walton has yet to name a starting power forward, but Randle will be the favorite for the spot over Larry Nance and rookie Kyle Kuzma.
Our models would suggest that Randle serves as the team's starter this season. As the 72nd pick in Yahoo! leagues, he's projected to average 12.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists across 30.7 minutes per game.
