Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas is expected to play by January.
What It Means:
Thomas has begun on-court activities following issues with his hip. With Thomas possibly out for up to 36 games, Derrick Rose is expected to open the season as the Cavaliers' starting point guard.
Thomas ranked third in the NBA last season, with 28.9 points per game as a member of the Boston Celtics.
