Wizards officially match max offer sheet on Otto Porter
The Washington Wizards have matched forward Otto Porter's max contract offer sheet from the Brooklyn Nets, according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.
What It Means:
As they promised all along, Porter is staying in Washington as the club's small forward of the past, present, and future. He will continue to bring elite three-point shooting and improving defense to a Wizards' squad that is projected to remain near the top of the depleted Eastern Conference.
Porter averaged 13.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.9 three-pointers per game in 2016-17 while shooting 43.4% from beyond the arc and posting a 9.4 nERD rating -- ranking him 20th among all 486 NBA players.
