Bulls start Isaiah Canaan, Cameron Payne inactive
Chicago Bulls point guard Cameron Payne is inactive again for Game 5 on Wednesday, as Isaiah Canaan draws the starting assignment.
Head coach Fred Hoiberg said the decision to start Isaiah Canaan has to do with defense against Boston Celtics point man Isaiah Thomas. Canaan played 34 minutes in Game 4 for this reason and should be looking at decent minutes again today. Michael Carter-Williams was brought on for defense, but Thomas has beaten him soundly throughout this series. Considering how bad MCW and Jerian Grant have been, Payne not getting a shot isn't the best sign.
numberFire's algorithms project Canaan for 10.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 31.8 minutes of action tonight.
