Knicks expected to sit Carmelo Anthony (knee) and Kristaps Porzingis (back) for season finale

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony (knee) and forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (back) are expected to sit out for Wednesday's season finale against the Philadelphia 76ers, per head coach Jeff Hornacek.

What It Means:

With playoffs hopes a thing of the distant past, the Knicks have no reason to trot out either guy if they're less than 100 percent on Wednesday. Look for Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Justin Holiday to pick up some extended run in the season finale.

Anthony finishes the season averaging 22.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 34.5 minutes per game. His .488 effective field goal percentage is his best since the 2013-2014 season, though he ranks only 281st in the NBA with a -0.8 nERD.
