Lakers may increase Ivica Zubac's role moving forward
Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton has said that he wants to see how center Ivica Zubac fares handling starter duties and playing bigger minutes.
Completely out of the playoff hunt, the Lakers have little incentive to keep trotting out Timofey Mozgov as the starter, and they will instead be giving more minutes to their younger players. That should bode well for the 19-year-old rookie Zubac.
Zubac has averaged only 14.0 minutes per game this season, but has produced a solid 5.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per contest, while leading the team with a 5.1 percent block rate. He also owns a -0.6 nERD on the season, which ranks in the bottom-half of the NBA, but is good for fifth on the Lakers.
