Deron Williams

Jazz show interest in acquiring Deron Williams from Dallas

The Utah Jazz are showing interest in trading for Dallas Mavericks point guard Deron Williams at the deadline, according to ESPN.

What It Means:

Williams is scheduled to be a free agent this summer, so the Mavericks would gladly move the veteran guard, especially with Yogi Ferrell showing so much promise at the position. As for the Jazz, the current backups to George Hill (Dante Exum and Shelvin Mack) aren't cutting it with Williams representing a significant upgrade for the playoff-bound Jazz.

Williams is averaging 13.1 points and 6.9 assists per game this season while posting a -1.4 nERD rating, ranking him 349th out of 463 NBA players.
