Lakers believe Ivica Zubac has earned more minutes
Los Angeles Lakers new President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson said he'd like to see center Ivica Zubac get more minutes during the final few months of the NBA season.
What It Means:
"I think he has really established himself as a quality backup center and I would like to see him get even more minutes," said Johnson. This echoes head coach Luke Walton's desire to give Zubac additional minutes over the season's second half. He's a quality big who specializes in blocks, so he could be worth the add for owners in need.
Zubac's -0.4 nERD this season ranks sixth on the Lakers and puts him just inside the NBA's top-250 players. In the six games where he's played 20 or more minutes, Zubac has averaged 12.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.5 blocks while shooting 53.2 percent from the field.
