Miami's Hassan Whiteside benched, says he's dealing with knee soreness
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside told reporters he hurt his left knee in the second quarter of Friday night's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Whiteside started the second half despite hurting his knee in the first half, but he was benched about three minutes into the third quarter and did not return until the fourth. Eric Spoelstra said he took Whiteside out due to effort, so it looks like Whiteside's knee soreness isn't overly serious. Double check his status for Saturday.
Whiteside is averaging 17.2 points and a league-leading 14.6 rebounds per game. He has a .554 true shooting percentage and his nERD of 2.1 ranks 32nd among all players.
