Elfrid Payton scores 16 points off Orlando's bench Sunday

Orlando Magic guard Elfrid Payton shifted to a bench role on Sunday, scoring 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes.

What It Means:

D.J. Augustin got the start and played pretty well as Frank Vogel shook up his starting unit. No word on whether the move is permanent, but with the way Payton has struggled with consistency this season, it might be more than just a one-night move.

Payton has really struggled with his shot this year. He owns a .453 effective field goal percentage and he is shooting just 19.5% from beyond the arc. This has led to a -0.8 nERD, which ranks him 361st among all players.
